Wrong pixel sizes are the fastest way to fail an App Store Connect or Play Console upload. This cheat sheet lists the exact App Store screenshot sizes for 2026 — what is required, what Apple scales automatically, and what Google still mandates.

Quick answer (iPhone apps in 2026)

Upload at least one set in the **iPhone 6.9″ display class**. Accepted portrait sizes: • **1320 × 2868 px** (recommended master — sharpest on Pro Max) • **1290 × 2796 px** (still accepted; older “6.7″” export) • **1260 × 2736 px** (also accepted in the 6.9″ class)

If you ship on iPad, also provide a 13″ iPad set (2064 × 2752 or 2048 × 2732).

iPhone screenshot sizes (App Store Connect)

| Display class | Portrait (px) | Required? | Notes |
|---------------|---------------|-----------|-------|
| iPhone 6.9″ | 1320×2868, 1290×2796, or 1260×2736 | Yes (for iPhone apps) | Master set — Apple scales down to smaller iPhones |
| iPhone 6.5″ | 1284×2778 or 1242×2688 | Only if you skip 6.9″ | Optional when 6.9″ is present |
| Smaller classes (6.3″ / 6.1″ / legacy) | Various | No | Auto-scaled from 6.9″ if omitted |

Practical tip: Design once at 1320 × 2868. Do not maintain separate 6.5″ text layouts unless conversion data proves you need it.

iPad screenshot sizes

| Display class | Portrait (px) | Required? |
|---------------|---------------|-----------|
| iPad 13″ | 2064×2752 or 2048×2732 | Yes if the app supports iPad |
| Older 12.9″ | 2048×2732 | Still accepted under the 13″ class in many cases |

Universal iPhone + iPad apps need both a 6.9″ iPhone set and a 13″ iPad set.

Google Play screenshot & feature graphic sizes

| Asset | Size (px) | Required? |
|-------|-----------|-----------|
| Phone screenshots | Min side ≥ 320, max ≤ 3840; up to 2:1 aspect | Yes — at least 2 (up to 8) |
| Common phone export | 1080 × 1920 (9:16) | Recommended for clarity |
| Feature graphic | **1024 × 500** | **Mandatory** listing banner |
| 7″ / 10″ tablet screenshots | Optional | Up to 8 each |

Play’s feature graphic appears at the top of your store listing and in promotional surfaces. Treat 1024 × 500 as non-negotiable.

macOS App Store

Desktop Mac apps typically use **2880 × 1800** (16:10) screenshots. Confirm the active Mac slot in App Store Connect for your binary before final export.

How many screenshots should you upload?

• Apple: 1–10 per display class and localization • Google Play phone: 2–8 • Lead with benefit + UI on slide 1; proof and features on slides 2–5 • Keep overlay text large — store thumbnails shrink aggressively on mobile SERPs

Common rejection / upload mistakes

1. Exporting 1170×2532 (older 5.8″/6.1″) as your only iPhone set when Connect expects a 6.9″-class file 2. Forgetting the Play **1024 × 500** feature graphic 3. Mixing landscape UI into a portrait-only slot (or vice versa) 4. JPEG compression artifacts on fine type — prefer PNG for marketing frames 5. Localizing screenshots in App Store Connect but forgetting to upload per-language sets

Export workflow with HighGrow

1. Open the free [Screenshot Studio](/tools/app-store-screenshot-generator) 2. Pick the target size (iOS 6.7″/6.9″-class 1290×2796, Android 1080×1920, Play feature 1024×500, iPad, or Mac) 3. Upload your app UI, add headline + subtitle, choose a layout preset 4. Export PNG — or ZIP the full carousel

Always re-check Apple’s Screenshot specifications in App Store Connect Help and Google Play’s preview asset docs before a major release — accepted sizes can gain new members inside a display class without renaming the slot.
